Help with Dial, and how to get in touch.
Write to dial@montnoir.dk. It helps to say which receiver you have, which device you're using Dial on, and what you were doing when the problem appeared.
What you need
- A Denon or Marantz receiver with HEOS Built-in, on the same network as your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- For HEOS Favorites, the receiver signed in to a HEOS account. You do this once, in the HEOS app.
- For Apple Watch, your iPhone nearby with Dial installed. The watch reaches the receiver through the iPhone.
Common questions
Dial doesn't find my receiver
- Check that your device and the receiver are on the same network.
- Check that Dial is allowed to use the local network: on iPhone and iPad in Settings, under Privacy & Security, Local Network; on a Mac in System Settings, under Privacy & Security, Local Network.
- Add the receiver by its IP address instead: open the receiver menu at the top left and choose Add by Address…. The receiver shows its address in its network settings.
Dial can't turn the receiver on
A receiver in standby only listens for the network if it's set to. On most Denon and Marantz receivers, set Network Control to Always On in the receiver's network setup menu.
Favorites asks me to sign in to HEOS
Your favorites are kept in the HEOS account your receiver is signed in to. Sign the receiver in with the HEOS app; Dial then uses that account. Dial never asks for your HEOS password.
The watch says the iPhone isn't reachable
Apple Watch can only reach your receiver through your iPhone. Keep the iPhone nearby, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on. Opening Dial on the iPhone once usually wakes the connection.
What can I say to Siri?
- "Find a station in Dial", then the station's name when Siri asks
- "Turn the receiver up" or "Turn the receiver down"
- "Mute the receiver" or "Unmute the receiver"
- "Power on the receiver" or "Put the receiver in standby"
With Apple Intelligence, you can also ask Siri to play a station in Dial by name. The same actions are in the Shortcuts app.
The trial and your purchase
How does the free trial work?
Dial is free for 14 days, then a one-time purchase. You start the trial yourself in the app. There's one trial per Apple Account, and it covers all your devices: starting it on one starts it everywhere. When it ends, nothing is charged and nothing renews.
I bought Dial, but another device doesn't show it
The purchase belongs to your Apple Account, so it works on every iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch signed in to the same account. Family Sharing is on, so family members get it too. If a device doesn't show your purchase, use Restore Purchases in Dial.
